Howard Helfant, Boca Raton restaurateur,   in part 3 of his continued thoughts for Mobile Marketing and the restaurant business offers up a few suggestions as well as misconceptions about the newest field of marketing.

1. Truth : More than half the people using a smartphone are over the age of 35 !  Yes, it is true, according to Howard, and all ll the more reason that every restaurant must have a plan for mobile marketing. it is not only the young generation, it is everyone.

2. Myth- I am wasting my time, it does not matter. Helfant comments that the biggest mistake any food establishment can make is thinking it does not matter. The more local the appeal, the more important it is.

3. Myth- If you do not have an I Phone why bother?  Android devices are at least 50+% of the market and growing and growing. Apps that had only offered I Phone versions are not out there with Droid versions as well.

4. Myth- It is only for the big restaurant and fast food chains. Actually the more local you are the more you need to publicize and market your restaurant. Mobile marketing is the perfect way to announces updates, events and specials.  Mobile marketing, according to Helfant can actually put the local restaurant on a somewhat even playing field with the national group.
